This Australian-born fintech scale-up is at the forefront of spend management solutions for SMEs. Renowned for its user-friendly web and mobile applications, the platform offers features like instant virtual corporate cards, sophisticated spend controls, real-time transaction monitoring, automated expense reporting, and seamless integration with major accounting software. It stands out for managing subscription spending, facilitating reimbursements, and offering exclusive rewards programs.

The Role:

The company seeks its first Technical Lead to lead a new squad of Engineers. You’ll bring a track record in delivering new features and mentoring a team of highly intelligent Engineers. Full-stack application development experience is preferred. You should be familiar with lean team operations (it is a scale-up after all!), collaborating with product managers, designers, and other company stakeholders to enhance the platform. As Weel's inaugural Tech Lead, the role includes developing the function and coaching other Tech Leads bring promoted internally.

Desired skills include React, React Native, Python, Django, AWS, leading a small engineer squad, reviewing stories and tech designs, coding, pairing for code reviews and training, and giving feedback on tasks. Responsibilities involve complex bug resolution, release management, new integration collaboration, cross-functional team coordination to comprehend project needs, mentoring team members for continuous learning, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical parties, translating business requirements into technical solutions, driving software development best practices for quality, scalability, and maintainability, and collaborating with project managers for project planning and execution within time and budget limits.

Experience managing external or offshore engineering teams is a bonus.
