ShiftCare, in collaboration with nDeva, is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to enhance healthcare technology for the vulnerable.

Founded in 2016 by Gaurav Cheema, ShiftCare has been revolutionising healthcare for the most vulnerable. Their mission is clear - to empower NDIS providers, in-home aged carers, and allied health professionals with technology that simplifies their operations and enhances care quality. They’re not just a company; they're a movement towards better healthcare.

About the Role

The small and nimble Engineering team has spent the last year implementing new features so Shiftcare can expand into new markets. Over the next 12 months, the product needs to scale to meet the demands of new & existing customers.

To do this, an Engineering Team Lead role has been designed so there is a dedicated person who can look after and level up the team so they can continue building scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems. Of course, this requires you to promote good engineering practices, identify/fine-tune areas of improvement and work on each team member’s personal development.

Like most start-ups, career growth depends on the company’s success, however, as Shiftcare is predicted to grow 100% YoY, there is a high chance of this role getting promoted to Head of Engineering.

The Company & Team

  • The Team: Shiftcare is growing fast! In one year, Shiftcare has grown from a team of 6 to 40 and is made up of some of the brightest and smartest minds in technology - all of them are passionate about creating a best-in-market product. You’ll be looking after the main engineering team which consists of 2 x Frontend Engineers, 3 x Full Stack Engineers, and 1 x Backend Engineer.

  • Culture & Values: ShiftCare’s values are people first, optimism, independence, and collaboration. And you can tell that as soon as you interact with the team. There are hundreds of SaaS companies out there but finding one that exists to improve people’s lives and has an incredible culture is rare. And that’s what makes coming to work at ShiftCare not only fun but also deeply satisfying. As a progressive business, they are constantly looking for ways to improve their culture. The well-being of their staff is one of the highest priorities and as such, they offer benefits to help you relax, recharge and turn up to work in your peak state.

  • Financials & Benefits: ShiftCare has been profitable for the past three years, which is incredibly rare for such a young business. Especially one that’s been bootstrapped since day one. They are not VC-funded but backed by an angel investor whose net worth is in the billions. This, of course, gives ShiftCare the stability and funds to continue to take the product and business to the next level.
