“Creating real-world change for vulnerable people in society.”
Since 2016, ShiftCare has been on a mission to provide better healthcare to the most vulnerable people. Shiftcare’s Founder, Gaurav Cheema recognised a need to change the way NDIS providers manage their business by implementing some kind of technological advancements that many sectors already considered standard.
ShiftCare’s purpose-built software helps Australia’s disability support providers, in-home aged carers and allied health professionals, streamline the way they work and eliminates the need for extensive IT systems. Their solution isn’t just about optimising resources but enhancing experiences for all.

What is Shiftcare all about?
Shiftcare’s Founder, Gaurav Cheema was doing some pro-bono work to help not-for-profits streamline their process and improve patient care when he was inspired to create a technical solution that would solve this problem. Fast forward eight years, ShiftCare is now a thriving platform that has supported over 200,000 clients and generated over $1billion in revenue.
With 300% YoY growth, they show no signs of slowing down. Having already secured a large chunk of the Australian market, ShiftCare is on a journey to expand into the US and European markets.
ShiftCare puts its success down to two things;
1) It’s a highly innovative platform that streamlines the rostering, client management and billing process, allowing support providers to focus on the thing that matters most: personalised patient healthcare. The
2) The world-class team. With 40 passionate and exceptionally talented people who have made Shiftcare a reality
Engineering Team Lead
The small and nimble Engineering team has spent the last year implementing new features so Shiftcare can expand into new markets. Over the next 12 months, the product needs to scale to meet the demands of new & existing customers.
To do this, an Engineering Team Lead role has been designed so there is a dedicated person who can look after and level up the team so they can continue building scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems. Of course, this requires you to promote good engineering practices, identify/fine-tune areas of improvement and work on each team member’s personal development.
Like most start-ups, career growth depends on the company’s success, however, as Shiftcare is predicted to grow 100% YoY, there is a high chance of this role getting promoted to Head of Engineering.
