The Role

Local Measure is currently looking for a highly experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join their DevOps team. This role is crucial for someone who excels in a fast-paced work environment, enjoys discovering new challenges within AWS, and is eager to take initiative and think outside the box. The successful candidate will work closely with their DevOps specialist, Mani, to develop tooling and architecture that will enable their tech teams to excel, aligning the company's tech strategies with its ambitious growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Optimise AWS Infrastructure: Design and optimise Local Measure's AWS infrastructure using serverless technologies like CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform to enable seamless scaling capabilities.

  • Enhance Architecture and Tooling: Actively contribute to improving architecture and tooling to support product development teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources for effective innovation.

  • Leadership in Technical Projects: Demonstrate leadership in technical projects and initiatives, showcasing strong problem-solving skills and fostering innovation across the organisation.

  • Security and Compliance Priority: Prioritise the security and compliance of Local Measure's systems and data by implementing measures to protect against potential threats.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by proactively and creatively addressing challenges and adapting to Local Measure's growing scale-up environment.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with AWS, serverless architectures, and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).

  • Proficiency in scripting languages, preferably Python and Go.

  • Preference for candidates with a development background and direct product development experience.

  • A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and contributes creative ideas.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

  • A technical interview with their Dev team to evaluate your problem-solving skills and technical expertise.

  • Meeting with Local Measure's leadership team.
