The team at Amplified Intelligence is seeking a Data Engineer to take ownership of centralising and building out a single source of truth for their data. This role involves guiding the company on how to elevate and scale their data engineering capabilities. The position offers exciting challenges, particularly in their data pipelines, which include AI/ML, data protection, face and emotion detection, and the integration of these elements downstream. While many of their current problems have been addressed, achieving scalability on a global level remains the next big challenge.

The ideal candidate will have experience with data engineering tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Airflow, Python, SQL, and Scala (though not all are required). Familiarity with modern cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is essential. Proficiency in implementing and optimising ETL processes and data integration is crucial, along with a solid understanding of data modelling principles, data security, and governance practices.

Role Responsibilities…

As Senior Data Engineer at Amplified Intelligence, you will:

• Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement scalable, automated data pipelines on cloud infrastructure, incorporating best practices for data processing and storage while collaborating with data science teams to integrate prediction models.

• Technical Leadership: Guide the technical design and architecture of data applications, enforcing industry-leading practices in data modelling, governance, security, and performance tuning, while conducting feasibility assessments for data engineering projects.

• Code Reviews and Mentorship: Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers in data engineering techniques, frameworks, and troubleshooting, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.

• Quality Assurance and Testing: Implement comprehensive data quality checks and automated tests to ensure data integrity, leveraging CI/CD pipelines for efficient testing and deployment of data solutions.
